Sky Disney movies: new channel to show the first film TV UK

Films including the Brave and Wreck-It Ralph have their first UK TV, the new Sky movies Disney Channel, a new multi-year film will be deal between BSkyB and the Hollywood studio.

Sky Movies Disney will launch March 28 as a new addition to the range of channels from Sky pay TV movie, replacing Disney Cinemagic.

Tracks animated Disney and Pixar, which Tinker Bell: Secrets of the wings and upcoming releases Oz: the great and powerful, University of monsters and The Lone Ranger, will also have their first broadcast TV UK on Sky Disney movies.

The agreement also gives Sky access to Disney films for its video on demand Sky go and now TV On Demand.

Sky declined to reveal the length of his new Disney contract. But faced with increased competition for the rights to service Hollywood film we VOD Netflix, which launched in the United Kingdom at the beginning of 2012, Sky has now renewed exclusive pay-TV deals with four of the six major studios, Disney, Sony, Universal and Warner Bros - since September.

In the case of Sky Movies channels will have the first TV UK by future versions of Lucasfilm, recently acquired by Disney, including the new Star Wars films; and Marvel titles which assemble Avengers and Iron Man 3.

Sky Movies Disney will also be the new home of UK pay TV for movies from the library of cartoon Disney Bambi and Pinocchio, Pixar animations such as the world of Nemo and Cars and live action films including Pirates of the Caribbean franchise.

Ian Lewis, Director of Sky Movies, said: "the Disney films are loved by all ages and generations, we are delighted to bring this new channel of millions of families without any additional cost. Sky Movies Disney will be the home of new and classic films by Disney and Disney/Pixar and will offer all new titles at least a year before the other channels of TV or subscription services.
